While we are waiting for a rather large shipment of batterypacks for the upgraded Bluelink, we have purchased the new Bose Quietcomfort 2nd generation – just for the fun of it!

Pros: The headset looks good (although a litttle ‘cheap’), easy to use and has the mechanical on off switch which we love.
Easyness of use is for us IMPORTANT!

Cons: What we do not like, is that it has the old type cushions that are a pain to change (when you don’t know how to do it), and it stops working when the battery is flat.

These negative things are however not showstoppers, and we belive the QC 2nd Gen will be popular as an aviation headset.
So far we have not tested it in an aircraft, but we would be sad, dissapointed, surpriced,speechless  & flabbergasted if the ANR is not as good as on the previous Bose versions.

The big surprice!
But what comes as a surprice and relief to us on the Bose Quietcomfort 2nd generation is the following:

Bose is no longer supporting its 2,5mm audio jack !
And that should be bad news right ? No longer possible to use this headeset as an aviation headset,- or plugged into the entertainment system on row 29D (between to rather large american men on 29C and 29E) ? Wrong !

We humble folks at Avee are positively flabbergasted of the lack of the 2,5mm connector. And the reason for it is called USB-C Audio Adapter Accessory Mode – and this is what Bose have used on the QC 2nd generation!
Really clever Bose !!!

What this means
To make a long (and what could have been an incredibly interesting) story short, this  means that the Bose Quetcomfort 2nd generation supports BOTH USB and analog interface via its USB C port !
And of course Bose have added a 1m adapter cable to plug your headset into the back of 28D. 

Practially it means that we will be able to add the Bose Quetcomfort 2nd generation to the list of headsets we support within a 6 to 8 weeks. We need some time to feed the cat.
