We have performed some major upgrades on our aircraft adapters.
The standard dual GA adapter has been redesigned substantially:
- The volume adjustment wheel is mounted beside the USB C cable connector, 90 degrees to the connector housing.
This solution makes it easier to adjust the volume – and it makes it easier for us to produce. The electronics componets inside the housing are now fully machine assembled. - The microphone output level is still found on the rear side on the connector housing, but the level is now even easier to adjust without any tools ( the corner of any credit card does the trick).
It is however, important to mention that for 99.9% of all users, there are no need to adjust the mic output level. - The mono stereo switch is now found on the right side of the connector. Please use a pen or pencil to flip this mono stereo switch if needed.
Again: 99.9% of our avaitors use a mono avionics system, so there is no need to touch this switch. - We have added more filtering to prevent noise from the aircraft engine (typically alternator noise and radio high frequency noise (when the ptt is pressed).
- Last – but not least: The 5.2mm connector housing is around 13mm shorter than the previous version of the housing. This means less to carry on for you. For us it means reduced production time and costs.
On the XLR-5 we have done some minor improvements:
- Sligtly shorter length
- Easier adjustment of the mic output level.
- Better designed knob for the headset volume adjustments.
All new orders and already existing but non-fulfilled orders will be delivered with these new adapters.
Shipments start June 24th.
