The Avee noise cancelling microphone is a ‘flexible rod type’ and can easily be adjusted for a perfect fit.
The silicon enforced root of the microphone boom makes it extremely stable; yet easy to move when drinking and eating.
The microphone is designed with barbs to effectively prevent the microphone wind shield falling off.
The microphone should be placed as close to the mouth as possible, and the flat surface of the mic and the white spot on the mic root should be facing your mouth.
The Avee145 microphone boom can easily be detached from the Avee microphone housing and be exchanged.
The microphone boom is connected to the main circuit board inside the microphone housing with a micro USB connector.
The new stiffer microphone boom is included when purchasing the Avee Aviation Microphone kit (or upgrade).
Two lengths are available for the old microphone boom: 145mm (short) and 165mm (standard), the standard lengths which fits most customers is 165mm.
**Note: if your Avee microphone is older than July 2018, the boom cannot be replaced. The first generation of Avee microphone does not have a detachable boom.**

GBI unfortunately have to say that this product does not meet a particularly high standard. I have had my AVEE set for a little over a year, and it is already going back for repairs due a terrible crackling noise every time I move the boom microphone. I fly a Global into every major airport in the world, and you cannot afford to have a sub standard product when you are flying into JFK or LAX. I am hoping that AVEE can sort my set out.

CAI really liked the product. Its works well and is compact enough to fit in a small pocket in my flight bag. The modular design is pretty neat, it allows me to add the bluetooth option later on if I want to. Its very light and the cable is just the right length. It doesn't get in my way and is very easy to carry. I do have a concerns which I would like to get some help resolve from Avee. When I transmit using this microphone , the sidetone isn't very strong. I can barely hear my own voice when I transmit. I have tried setting the volume on the mic but it makes everything else very loud. I emailed Avee regarding this but I haven't heard anything, I would really like from them to reach out with a possible solution. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product.

USIt feels like a bose a20 boom and picks up less white noise and breathing noise than the last model. Still needs some tinkering to find right volume setting and picks up more noise than a professional headset mic. But great for the price

GBThe boom mike stays where you put it and is of high quality construction. It can, under certain circumstances detach from the main unit; it happens sometimes while I am stowing the headphones in my flight bag. Otherwise I would have given a five star rating.
GBExcellent. If I were to purchase the full BOSE set up it would have cost me closer to £1,200. As it was everything I needed for closer to £500. But with one big advantage. I chose to have the Bose QC45 headset and microphone comb, but when I am not using it for aviation, I have a great pair of headphones with noise cancelling.... Great when on a long haul flight to cut out the noise!
USThe new designed boom mic is great, far and above better than the previous version. I used to have issues with other crew unable to hear me as it was too far from my mouth, or I couldn't get the mic to position correctly. The new mic fixed all this. It's sturdy and easy to position, stays in place and no problem with a consistent pickup of sound!
USThe new, more rigid, mic boom works great! It's just what we needed in our open cockpit AutoGyro MTO :)

CAThe design to keep the boom mike to the headphone with magnets is very well done. The new and more sturdy boom helps to keep the microphone close to the mike without having to reposition it often. However, it could even be better if the book was shorter to prevent having to bent it so much, thus preventing premature wear and tear of the boom. Some feedback if own voice heard with the Bose 700 but manageable. The cord is very light and seems easy to break it caught in the seat real for example. Would recommend to make it a little more sturdy. Love the microphone and looking forward for the improved version.

INThe boom Mike is very comfortable to use. Complete clarity and of ideal length. Good built quality.
DEUnfortunately, there is nearly no improvement to the old microphone boom. The colleagues keep telling me that they cannot hear me in the interphone, if i don’t put the microphone almost in my mouth! Additionally, the microphone boom adapter keeps falling out of the adapter kit (that one sticked to the QC35) because it does not fit perfectly.
Hei Mike, the boom should not fall, in this case the boom is probably not inserted well. Make sure the rubber ledges are fully inserted into the Avee. There should be no gap between the Avee and the boom.
GBAlthough my original microphone had worked flawlessly, I recently moved to a different R22 helicopter where the radio was speech activated. I’m quite quietly spoken and found the response time of the new radio meant that I needed a little more sensitivity. I felt a longer reach microphone would sit directly in front of my mouth. In the air this works as intended, giving the fraction of a second lead time in the noisy R22 environment meaning my radio call is fully heard. Additionally, it really helps when in the office (see my other review – I use it with a flightsounds box with MS Teams) I can speak more quietly and every work is picked up but breathing is not, so I’m still safe from the Darth Vader impressions too! Switching the microphone is really simple, no tools just a simple and effective plug in/out. I’m happy to keep the shorter mic for passenger rides as the positioning allows me to take sips from my water bottle without adjusting the mic. Delivery was swift and as always, customer service is excellent.
CAI ordered the 165mm mic boom kit and realized it was too long and had to bend the boom a lot to place the mic right over my mouth. I reached out to Avee and they quickly dispatched the standard length boom. I was surprised to see how easy it was to swap. Now the mic sits at the perfect distance and no bending required. Thank you
GRBetter quality and output improved. I Use it with Bose 700. Sometimes need to have the microphone very close to my mouth. But is for Sure in the Right way to make it perfect! Hope that review helps!
