Legacy: upgrading the Avee mic software
UPGRADING THE SOFTWARE IN THE AVEE MICROPHONE

The Avee microphone add on has a built in microcontroller which is executing a program to make your Avee microphone add-on work.
The program (or software ) in the Avee microphone add-on has developed during the last two years, and it might be interesting to upgrade this software to the newest version available.

HOW TO DO

The software upgrade is done from the BlueLink module, and takes less than 30 seconds.
To do this, follow the following steps:

  1. Connect the Microphone add on to the Avee25 BlueLink Cable (like normal). Do NOT connect the Avee25 BlueLink Cable to the aircraft.
  2. Connect the BlueLink to the Avee25 cable.
  3. Switch the BlueLink on.
  4. After the BlueLink has started, verify that the text ‘No Avioncs Detected’ is shown on the BlueLink screen.
  5. Verify that the Microphone add on gets bias power from the BlueLink.
Do this by pressing the +/- keys on the mic add on – and check that the green led between the keys is blinking when a key is pressed.
The fact that the led is blinking verifies that the Avee microphone add on gets bias voltage from the BlueLink.
  6. Go to the BlueLink Settings menu -> Mic Add on -> Software upgrade.
From here you can see which software is installed on the Microphone add on, and which software version for the Mic add on is available on the BlueLink.
Memorize the version installed on the Mic add on.
  7. Press ‘enter’ to download the new software to the Avee microphone add on.
Note: this procedure should never be performed while flying, and it can only be done when the BlueLink is disconnected from the aircraft.
Program data is now transferred from the BlueLink to the mic add on and stored permanetly there.

The Avee Microphone add on now has the new software installed.
This procedure can be done as many times as you want.
