The Avee-year 2025

The Avee-year 2025 was extremely busy for us.  We see a steady increase in the number of sold units, and we are really happy to see so many already existing customers coming back for a new purchase..

The reason for previous customers coming back to us to buy upgrades may be that we have a fairly good price for upgrades, but we have also thought it might be tiny chance the returning customer was happy with the Avee product she/he already had.

Improving product quality
During 2025 we have spent lots of time improving the product quality. We are really happy with the Avee Ultimate series, but we have had too many issues with the cable between the headset and the aircraft adapter. The culprit has been the assembly and final soldering of the USB C connector in both ends of the cable, and we have now taken measures to avoid these problems.

Design of the Avee parts
From the birth of Avee, we used Solidworks as the design tool for all our Avee parts; from the headset adapters to the connectors for the cables.

A couple of years ago, we switched to Fusion 360 – and we are really happy with this design tool.
All our parts are, of course, designed in-house, and as of December 2025, the only parts that are produced in China are the microphone boom (partly) and the cable.

This means that the major parts of the Avee products are produced in-house in Norway, and this gives us incredible flexibility and a super short time to market. It  also gives us the possibility to quickly do corrections and changes to a product.

  • The Avee ‘plastic’ parts are printed and produced in-house
  • The Avee electronics are assembled in-house
  • Final assembly is done in-house
  • Testing and packing are done in-house
    .

Investments made
During the last two years we have made a number of (for us) fairly large investments to be more independent from subcontractors  in Norway and China:

  • Late 2023 we invested in industrial high resolution 3D printers for our adapters.
Previously, we produced all our plastic parts for the adapters in China. The quality and price level, and even production time for the plastic molds, were incredibly good.
On the negative side was the increased price level on shipments, plus limited room for changes when the (fairly expensive ) mold was produced.
Mold changes were also fairly time-consuming.
With the Ultimate series, all plastic parts for the Avee, are produced in house.
We do currently have the capacity to produce around 60-80 Avee units per day, but this capacity can easily be increased.
    .
  • In 2024 we invested in a pick and place machine for mounting the circuit boards that are inside the headset adapters, the aircraft adapters, and the Bluelink.
Previously, we used a Norwegian subcontractor for circuit board assembly.
    .
  • 2025 was also  big year for investments in Avee:
    .
    • We invested in a new and larger soldering machine for the circuit boards
      .
    • We installed equipment for optical inspections of the assembled circuit boards.
      .
    • We invested in a new and larger professional 3d printer for the Avee modules.
      .
    • In addition to these investments, we moved (in-house) to get more room for machines, offices, and production.
      .

What did we spend time on in 2025
Apart from learning to use all the new machines mentioned above, we spent our time on production and testing, customer handling, support, packing and shipping, and finally development.

Finishing the Bluelink R3 has taken a large amount of development time in 2025.

What will we focus on in 2026 ?
A salesperson would be furious to see that we did not spend one second on sales in 2025 (apart from the Aero 2025 in Friedrichshafen in Germany, we consider attending the Aero holiday and not working).

  • Sales will for sure be an area that we will focus on.
Being visible on social media has become extremely important and a fairly inexpensive way of telling that ‘we are here’.

We have started making some somewhat stumbling videos showing our products. Making short videos both from the office, but also in ‘our’ test aircraft LN-NEZ (a Diamond DA40 we have a tiny tiny share in) will be a major area of our attention.
We are a bit allergic to videos wth fast men and loud background music. We will do it in our way – but need to find out how. Work and fun in progress for sure!
    .

  • We will also improve our customer handling – or rather the customer experience with us; making it easier to reach us.
We are of course available on phone but we are on the Norwegian timezone – and this can be tough both for us and for the many customers we have on the other side of the lake.

[ Support is a very important part of running a business, and even if 99.99 percent of our customers are extremely nice, of course we do have the 0.01 percent that we would like to strangle.

However; in Norway we have laws that prohibit us from walking on a red light and strangling people. So we will not do it. But we would like to. Josee from Spain; we know where you live. Behave.😃😃😃]
    .
  • The Bluelink R3 has taken lots of the development resources in 2025.
However; the product has turned out really nice with the ‘volume wheel’, lightweight, tiny and fairly good battery capacity.

We are continuously coming up with software upgrades on this product, so the Bluelink R3 will take a lot of our development time even in 2026.
All software updates we are coming with can be downloaded and installed by you.

We are also coming with a hardware option on the Bluelink R3 in the first quarter of 2026. This update will add cockpit voice recording functionality on the Bluelink R3.
This hardware update can be installed by yourself.
    .

Shipments with surface mail
A tiny but very important thing that happened in 2025, was the fact that we were given the possibility to ship to most of the world using standard tracked surface mail as an alternative to the DHL shipment.
Shipments from Norway with DHL – or may we say: shipments with DHL/UPS/Fedex in general – have gotten very expensive.
DHL are extremely fast (one to two nights transport), but not all of us need this fast transport.

The tracked shipment alternative we introduced this spring, offers the following:

  • Tracked surface shipment
  • Affordable compared to the DHL sipment
  • Local VAT prepaid to all European countries except the UK which bailed out. Switzerland never got in to the EU.
The shipment is typically sent directly to the customer without any delay for customs handling.
And there are for these EU countries no import handling fees.
  • Non-prepaid VAT to countries outside the EU: Canada, Australia, the UK, Switzerland, and the USA.
  • Fairly fast, depending on the country we ship to.
One to two weeks to most EU countries.
    Italy is awfully slow:3-6 weeks.
    .

We are happy to see that around 60% of all orders are now shipped as tracked surface mail.

Aero 2026
We already get questions about whether we will attend the Aero 2026 in Friedrichshafen in Germany. We will decide if we join medio February 2026.

Thank you all for your support in 2025 ! Remember, we are only a phone call away!
